An Eco-Supercar - Top Gear full of praise for the new Lotus Elise

The new Lotus Elise offers vital statistics of 134bhp, 45mpg and just 149g/km of CO2, meaning just £115 a year for road tax – pretty impressive for a sports car.

This new generation Lotus Elise handles exactly the way Lotus drivers would expect and demand. The handling and ride in the new Elise is just as balanced as ever with great control and responsive steering. Over the past decade, the Lotus Elise has been the benchmark of great handling and this latest model does not disappoint.

Because the Elise’s chassis was basically perfect, it’s stayed the same. Although the body features a few visual changes which do a good job of freshening it up. The sharper front end with the LED running lights and the impressive looking rear diffuser look great.

The overall more lightweight and more efficient Lotus Elise is a welcome addition to the sports car market at a time when efficiency and emissions seem to be all the motoring industry can talk about. This sporty little number is responsible eco-motoring at its best.
