An Ideal Family Takes Part in Montreal's 34th World Film Festival

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 12, 2010 -- New Century announced that An Ideal Family will debut globally at the 34th Montreal World Film Festival that will be held between 26 August and 6 September 2010. The film will be part of the Focus on World Cinema section and this premiere will precede the film's release in Egypt during Eid Al-Fitr. An Ideal Family will compete for the title of the People's Choice Award as audiences vote for their favorite film from among this year's participants.

The Montreal World Film Festival is among the most prominent film festivals worldwide. This is due to its high level of popularity among global audiences, the diversity of the participating films and cultures, and the festival's main aim of encouraging cultural diversity and understanding among nations.

An Ideal Family is directed by Akram Farid' and is New Century's first production for 2010. The film will be released in Egyptian cinema theatres during the Eid Al Fitr season and it is the only Egyptian film to officially participate in the 34th Montreal World Film Festival. It is noteworthy that Egypt is also participating in the festival through film director Marwan Hamed, who is a member of the international competition contest jury. The festival will be attended by some of the world's most prominent film stars, including the French star Gérard Depardieu who will be giving a master class to the attendees.
An Ideal Family falls under the family comedy genre. The film stars Lebleba and features the distinguished actor Ahmed Fouad Selim and the renowned actress Ragaa Hussein, in addition to a group of young talents that includes Amr Abed and Hassan Harb, as well as fresh faces that include Irene Fady, Ahmed Shawky, Sherihan, Seif Al-Deen Tarek and the young Mohamed Talaat.

The events of An Ideal Family tell the story of an Egyptian family that consists of 8 members and that is shortlisted to win the "Ideal Family" prize on a television show. Through the contest for the prize, the family members unveil themselves to the audience - and to each other - within a family-oriented production that conveys the attributes of Egyptian families of the modern day.

The film was written by Omar Gamal, who is also known for his film Awkat Faragh in 2006. It is directed by Akram Farid, who is famous for widely popular films that include Omar & Salma in 2007, which reaped more than 20 million pounds in the Egyptian box office.

The 34th Montreal World Film Festival will be attended by film star Lebleba and film director Akram Farid from the An Ideal Family team, as well as Boushra; the renowned artist and vice chairman of the film's production company New Century.
