Lynsey de Paul calls for support of campaign and joins in,
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2009 --
Joining a growing list of famous names, Lynsey de Paul became the latest supporter to add her name to the campaign to have kangaroo products banned from the EU.
De Paul said: “I was in Australia earlier in the year to write an article for The Daily Mail on its diverse and unique wildlife, which has always fascinated and held me in awe. I was privileged to be able to stroke and feed kangaroos at a wildlife sanctuary. They are delightful and extraordinary creatures with their beautiful large eyes, surprisingly silky fur and gentle nature - while in captivity”.
Miss de Paul, famous for such hits as Rock Bottom and Sugar me and a lover of Australia, could not believe that such a beautiful and fabulous country could kill its most iconic of symbols, the kangaroo, using such a devastating method of despatching millions of joeys by bashing them to death.
She said: “I could not bear the fact that these poor animals in the wild were suffering such a dreadful death. It was barbaric and a shame on Australia! I was wondering what I could do and then I heard about this campaign and realised that there was something I could do to help. You can count me in on this campaign to have all kangaroo products banned from the EU. We all need to work together and put an end to this cruel industry and I am sure that with the famous names already adding their strong support, others will follow. It just takes a little time but, slowly and surely, the world is waking up to one of the biggest wildlife massacres on the planet. Please join us and support this important campaign.”
