United States of America -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Nov 17, 2010 -- Perrin Conferences is pleased to announce our upcoming Medicare Conference, NAVIGATING THE MEDICARE SECONDARY PAYER STATUTE IN WORKERS’ COMPENSATION AND LIABILITY CLAIMS: Section 111, Conditional Payments, and Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements. The conference takes place December 3, 2010, at the The Helmsley Park Lane Hotel, New York, NY and will address and provide practical solutions to critical compliance issues related to Medicare reporting rules and their effect on both workers’ compensation and mass tort programs.
Perrin Conferences' Medicare Conference takes a deeper look at the various issues and challenges facing the claims industry related to Medicare’s new reporting law (Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007), Conditional Payments, and Medicare Set-Asides. This event will also examine proposed reform legislation recently introduced in Congress, and recent Court decisions in terms of how they may impact Medicare compliance obligations.
The Medicare Conference also addresses reporting rules that are designed to resolve an individual’s potential obligations under Medicare Secondary Payer. Topics covered include what happens when the individual is a part of a mass tort settlement program, including scenarios in which Medicare has been providing some guidance for toxic tort programs where dates of exposure and the evidence of such exposure become key facts in considering certain policy exceptions for reporting and/ or repaying Medicare.
