Another Rain Shall Fall

July 12, 2010

British Petroleum is using a toxic solvent on the Gulf oil spill. This is called Corexit 9500. Russian scientists say this will later fall as toxic rain. Farmers should consider indoor aquaponics NOW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 12, 2010 -- British Petroleum and government disaster-relief agencies are using a toxic solvent similar to dry cleaning fluid to 'clean up' oil in the Gulf of Mexico,
This is called Corexit 9500, a chemical designed to break oil slicks into globules that are more quickly consumed by bacteria or sink into the water column before hitting shore.

Some scientists think dispersants are mostly useful because they make the oil slick invisible, even though oil particles continue to do damage. Others consider Corexit the lesser of two evils: It’s known to be highly toxic, adding to the harm caused by oil. Corexit is lethal to silverfish – used as a benchmark organism in toxicity testing — and more than twice as lethal to shrimp, another benchmark organism and an important part of Gulf fisheries.
At least it will concentrate damage at sea, they say, instead of allowing damage inshore. However, the weather is gearing up to ensure that damage will not only not be confined to the deep oceans, but will be airlifted by hurricanes as toxic rain, falling on large areas of the eastern United States.
Russian scientists reporting to their own government agencies have predicted dire consequences as a result of this toxic rain, which will affect the entire food chain, from the bottom up, disastrously.

Farmers in the eastern United States who are in the path of this toxic rainfall should be looking at installing greenhouse aquaponics systems to ensure that they can still be in the food production business when the rainfall has passed by. Their outdoor operations are now likely to be soaked in a solution of toxins that build up in the food chain, and are toxic at less than 3 parts per million dilution.

Aquaponics – water farming, combining fish aquaculture and hydroponic vegetables, but without the chemicals and artificial fertilizers – produces up to 40 times more food on 90% less land area, uses 90% less water, and can be set up indoors, or in a climate-controlled greenhouse. Since the water used is recycled continuously through the aquaponics system, it can be monitored and filtered through a reverse osmosis filter at source. In this way, neurotoxins from the poisoned rainfall, that have entered the water table, can be prevented from entering the human food chain, and be kept out of it by growing all food indoors, under a roof.
In this way, a very possible environmental catastrophe affecting at least 20 million people can be substantially mitigated.
