These definitions are a fair foundation for grasping what design is. I, by no means, am an expert in the field of design. I feel that at most we are brought to design in a certain way and cannot fully explain it because design is deeper than that of just a physical state. Transcending the vocabulary of the great majority.

A good quote to back this idea up is that of Erik Adigard:

“Design is in everything we make, but it’s also between those things. It’s a mix of craft, science, storytelling, propaganda, and philosophy.”

It paints a picture of opinionated complexity that is framed in a certain amount of logic and truth. However, if we choose to see design on it’s most elementary level. Where nothing else can be taken away to improve upon its mere existence. We will see it [design] as:

“a free experience… it’s how we “connect” – to – “This”.

This experience can be obtained through the consideration of a design that others created or through your own creation. Either way, be it observation or action. Understanding design is an undeniable necessity.
