(Free-Press-Release.com) November 3, 2009 --
Edmond, OK, November 4, 2009:
The American Precious Metals Exchange (www.APMEX.com), one of the nation’s largest online precious metals companies, recently supported the National Council of Women of the United States with a donation of 300 Susan B. Anthony dollar coins for its inaugural Humanitarian Award Dinner.
Scottish philanthropist Ann Gloag was honored at the dinner as the first recipient of the group’s Susan B. Anthony Humanitarian Award, in recognition of her humanitarian service in Africa. The award was presented by Mary E. Singletary, President of the National Council of the United States.
“APMEX is pleased to have been able to help the National Council of Women,” said Scott Thomas, President and CEO of APMEX. “It is important to recognize those who devote themselves selflessly to worthwhile causes,” Thomas concluded.
Named for the American civil rights activist who helped form the National Council of Women of the United States, the Susan B. Anthony Humanitarian Award will be presented annually to individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people, their communities or the state of the world.
