(Austin, TX) - February 23, 2011 - Local App Development company, AppRanch, LLC. announced this week, it's unexpected backlash from consumers after releasing the iPhone title "Insult Alarm Clock" earlier this month. "People are pissed," says the company's founder and CEO, Jei Gaither. "We're really not sure how to handle the issue."
It seems that after delivering the comedic alarm clock app to the market, people laughed so hard, that the empty feeling of having only paid a mere 99 cents for the experience left them feeling, as some customers described, "violated."
"Who are they to say we can only pay 99 cents!? It's not right," says Paul Snidersonstein of Sri Lanka. "When you get that much enjoyment out of something, there's an ugly feeling you get, if you don't pay for it. Ya know?"
Fellow app buyer Rupert Smithburger from Arkansas had similar mixed emotions about his purchase from Apple's online "App Store." "'Hey, King Kong, time to mow your back hair?' That's [omitted] hilarious! It's like the writers of this thing knew me, or somethin'. It was a deeply personal-like experience, but I'm left feelin' dirty 'bout it. I feel like I should've paid more. Not much more, maybe just like a buck more. Yep, then I think I'd be able to sleep better at night."
When asked about the dismay of their customers, Gaither said this, "it's really surprising to us. We never thought we'd actually make any money making apps. We've just spent the last year and a half trying to come up with something really stupid. The result is "Insult Alarm." We might have done too good a job though, now that I think about it."
Despite the rough start, with almost 3 dozen Insult Alarm Clock users around the world, AppRanch hopes that people will take the opportunity to #wakeuplaughing, and not take life so seriously.
