Apple Inc. Scrambling To Satisfy Consumer Concerns As Iphone Antenna Issues Continue

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 16, 2010 -- CYPRUS-The past month since the Iphone 4 has been released Apple has had massive PR struggle for the company so often regarded as consumer friendly. The issues began when testing of their new product came back with issues in which the phone is held and the reception the device receives.

Continued complaints and formal testing has now proved that reception is substantially lowered when help in the left hand covering the internal antenna. The company which began by denying the problem has come out with several excuses for the issue, and now before a recall in instated look to offer for free what they said they wouldn’t, bumper bands.
The company plans to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. New York time, but doesn’t plan to declare a recall but rather offer rebates to disgruntled consumers.

“In order for Apple to stop the spiral effect of disaster they have created is to own up and tell the truth about the problems they are faced with, denial has been their route and has only distanced consumers from the company” said Warwick Ventures Smartphone Analyst Beth Lindal. “Without a heartfelt apology to customers, Apple risks losing loyal people who feel offended by the company’s recent handling of the matter.”

Apple has also released an updated version of the phones software IOS 4.0.1 which is planned to help address at least part of the problem the phone is facing. The software patch looks to fix a code error that improperly displayed signal strength making the phone seem like it always had great reception.

This was an issue for the past three generation of Iphone’s but one that was not picked up on by either consumers or Apple itself since the latest backlash of the Iphone 4.

“Apple is in a fragile place, they need to turn this around quickly as they are losing ground on the smartphone arena with Google’s Android steadily on their heels picking up market share” said Lindal.
