LAHORE: After many speculations about Near Field Communication (NFC) technology in Apple’s next generation mobile phone – iPhone 5, Apple has unwrapped in meetings with UK mobile operators that it will drop this wave and pay technology from the iPhone 5. In the way, Apple has clarified analyst Brian White’s last month’s report that the next iPhone will include NFC technology. According to sources, "The new iPhone will not have NFC; Apple told the operators it was concerned by the lack of a clear standard across the industry." Yet Apple is understood to be working on its own NFC proposition, which would link payments through iTunes.
What is NFC?
Actually, Near Field Communication technology in mobiles involves a small chip being embedded into the handset, which in turn, allows its users to pay for goods and services by simply waving their mobile phone across a special contactless reader.
With this technology, people could do things like make credit card payments with a swipe of their new or used mobiles.
