Apple issues legal notices to online retailers over Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet

Apple has ramped up legal efforts to close online sales channels being used to bypass its injunction on the sale of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.
According to Queensland e-commerce provider eTail Solutions, Apple's lawyers have written to the company requesting it to comply with the injunction.
ETail Solution marketing manager Alistair Eldred told The Australian that the letter pertained to sales of the Tab device from a website owned by its Hong Kong-based partner mobicity.com.au.
Eldred said his company had forwarded the letter to Mobicity's head office.
“They're sending letters to companies that are selling them,” he said.
“They've sent one to eTail Solutions and we've passed it on to the Hong Kong owners of
Mobicity. However, an injunction would have to take place within Hong Kong for it to have any effect on them.”
Rival Australian online electronics store Dmavo is also selling the Tab device and managing director Wojtek Czarnocki said he expected Apple to start turning up the legal heat on his operation.
“We'd be silly not to expect them take a bit of an interest in us,” he said.
“We're keeping our eyes and ears open but at this stage we haven't been contacted by Apple.”
Walter Isaacson recently revealed in his authorized biography of Steve Jobs that the deceased Apple co-founder reserved fierce venom for Android and wanted to “destroy” it.
“I'm going to destroy Android because it's a stolen product,” Isaacson, quoting Jobs, wrote in his book.
“I'm willing to go to thermonuclear war on this. They are scared to death because they know they are guilty.”
“Samsung Electronics Australia is not able to comment on the extent of the Federal Court's injunction of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, only that it will adhere to the ruling while an appeal is being pursued,” a Samsung spokeswoman said.
