New aqueous laminating adhesive can achieve strong bonding between non-porous surfaces including many plastics used in packaging, converting, graphics, displays and many other applications.
Aqua Based Technologies, a division of ADM Tronics, Inc., has introduced a new water-based, environmentally-safe, adhesive for lamination of plastic to plastic surfaces.
The new adhesive, designated AquaTack, 7001 PA, will bond low energy surfaces including a wide array of plastics and give a strong permanent bond. The adhesive initially dries to a strong pressure sensitive adhesive, then builds to a permanent bond after lamination. œThis is an important new addition to our line of adhesives, stated Andre' DiMino, President of ADM Tronics, œIt is a significant breakthrough to be able to achieve such secure bonds between non-porous plastic surfaces with a water based adhesive.
AquaTack, 7001 PA is a high-performance product which can be applied by conventional application methods such as gravure, flexo, rod, etc. It is available in pails, drums and totes. It is suitable for bonding and laminating rigid plastic and plastic films.
