(Free-Press-Release.com) October 19, 2011 --
Archer & Greiner, through its recent merger with Herten, Burstein, Sheridan, Cevasco, Bottinelli, Litt & Harz, effective May 2, 2011, together with a lateral hire this summer, has covered the spectrum of technology for which the firm provides general counseling, transactional representation, and litigation and prosecution services in all fields of intellectual property law, including rights sounding in patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret.
Through its merger, the firm has been fortunate to add Arnold D. Litt, who brings with him over 30 years experience in all areas of intellectual property law. His background includes a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Rutgers University and employment at Exxon Corporation as a patent attorney. He has also served as special court master to judges in federal court in complex patent litigation.
Earlier this summer, Gregory J. Winsky, longtime General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Business Development, of Franklin Electronic Publishers Inc., joined the firm, concentrating on intellectual property matters and related business transactions.
During 20 years as an executive officer with Franklin, Mr. Winsky served in many roles for the multinational consumer electronics company based in Burlington, N.J., including heading up business development and directing research and development (R&D) in creating one of the world's first handheld e-book readers. In connection with his work in the development of consumer electronic products, Mr. Winsky's inventions have been awarded four U. S. patents and are covered by a number of pending U.S. and foreign patent applications.
Mr. Litt's expertise in the technical area of chemistry and chemical engineering and Mr. Winsky's in the fields of electronics, computer hardware and software, and the Internet, enhance the firm's existing technical expertise in the mechanical, electrical, biological, chemical, Internet and business method arts. They join John F. Letchford, a former United States Patent Examiner with more than 20 years of patent prosecution experience and several hundred procured United States and foreign patents, and Jason F. Cotter, also a member of the patent bar, with a background in biochemistry and prior experience as a genetic scientist. The knowledge base of the firm's patent attorneys covers the full range of technologies in today's business environment. This depth, in addition to our deep bench of litigation attorneys, headed by Joseph A. Martin, allows Archer & Greiner to handle any IP issues, litigation or transactional, that may arise, locally, nationally or internationally.
