"After spending 31 years in the hair care industry, we've developed a passion for making sure that there are quality products and a solid knowledge base for black consumers and those that take care of black hair."
In 2009 the film "Good Hair" was released giving an in-depth look at what some estimated to be a $9 billion black hair industry. With so much money being spent on hair care, consumers need to know the facts.
How do the chemicals used in cosmetology work? At what age is it safe to perform a chemical service on a child? Is there a proper way to cut relaxed hair?
Dr. Edward Tony Lloneau, hair professional and Trichologist has the answers and wants to share them with the public on Monday November 14th in Los Angeles. Lloneau's class on black hair care has been describe by some as a motivational lecture by Bill Cosby, but each class has met up with standing room only audiences which demonstrates the concern that women of color have for their hair. According to Dr. Lloneau, "There is much that the text books and the State Board of Cosmetology has left out and ignored as it relates to ethnic studies in cosmetology."
For more information on how to attend the limited seating class on ethnic studies in cosmetology call 310-228-8517. The event will be held on Monday November 14th, 2011 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott in Culver City.
