Arizona business teachers recieve awards from Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)!
On July 18, 2011 the Arizona chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) announced its Annual Adviser Awards.

Arizona business teachers receive awards from Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)!
On July 18, 2011 the Arizona chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) announced its Annual Adviser Awards. These awards recognize local Arizona business and information technology teachers that have successfully implemented an FBLA chapter within their school, provided service and results above and beyond what is normally expected, and have inspired students to pursue the mission of FBLA – to bring business and education together. This year’s winning advisers included:
Kathryn Gomez from Blue Ridge High School – Adviser of the Year
Joe Galish from San Tan Foothills High School – New Adviser of the Year
Lorie Honeycutt and Tamara Kay from Yuma High School – Innovation Award
Marci Barlow from Safford High School – Board Citation
Debbie Cross from Metro Tech High School – National FBLA Adviser Wall of Fame
In addition to the award winners above, FBLA Arizona launched the “20-Year Club” which recognizes FBLA advisers from Arizona that have given 20 or more years of service to the organization. The “20-Year Club” members include:
Chuck Winkler – Mt. View High School (Marana)
Laurie Moody – Pima High School
Ana Danehy – Sunnyside High School
Bill Palmer – Metro Tech High School
Maria Bicknell – Pueblo High School
FBLA is a dynamic organization of young people who are actively interested in pursuing careers in business. Housed and funded in-part by Career and Technical Education Division in the Arizona Department of Education, John Huppenthal – State Superintendant of Public Instruction, FBLA is an integral part of business and IT programs in Arizona. With over 225,000 members nation-wide, FBLA is the premier student business organization in the entire world.
