The Arizona Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Pursue the Passion Program (an arm of the Jobing.com Foundation) hosted the 2nd Annual Pursue the Passion Conference on Friday, December 11th. This conference celebrated FBLA member’s participation in the Pursue the Passion Challenge. During the challenge, members were encouraged to seek out business and community leaders in their community and interview them regarding the path they took to get where they are today, what aspects of their career they are passionate about, and what advice they would give to young people today to help them achieve their dreams.
The conference was held at the U.S. Airways Center and included speakers such as Jeff Ianello (Sales Executive – Phoenix Suns), Leon Quan (Quan Presentations), Brandon Ames (Founder and CEO – Able Incorporated), Travis Hearn (Chaplin to the Phoenix Suns), Felicia Romero (Professional Fitness Model), Brett Farmiloe, and Zach Hubbell (Pursue the Passion co-founders). FBLA members were treated with workshops on professionalism, career development, and inspiration. The conference concluded with the presentation of Pursue the Passion Awards, given to members whose interview stood out from the rest.
Later that night, nearly 500 FBLA members and supporters watched the Phoenix Suns in action against the Orlando Magic! Members were treated to autographs, courtside warm-up previews and pictures with the Suns Dancers. In all, Arizona FBLA members conducted nearly 450 Pursue the Passion interviews!
