(Free-Press-Release.com) February 15, 2010 --
Arlington remodeling company FW&D wants more than signed contracts for their remodel projects. Owner Ned Overton is more concerned with being a company that their clients can trust in a time of need. With this winter’s torrential snow, Arlington residents have had some unexpected needs, starting with the December 19th storm and continuing to see flurries fall.
This past week brought two more heavy-hitters to the area. The first record-breaking storm dropped over 32 inches at Dulles airport, skyrocketing this season’s number, closing schools and businesses, and shutting down roads. With all the snow, many people found themselves snow-bound. Even after the plows came through, cars were buried under feet of snow. Many people were not able or equipped to clear their cars. Mr. Overton could not stand to see his Fairlington neighbors stranded. So Sunday morning, he called up our crews. While these guys normally spend their time artfully applying new tile in bathrooms or installing gorgeous cabinets in new kitchens, Mr. Overton was asking that they work to help out in a time of need. Many crew members were snow-bound as well, but those able braved the elements and treacherous road conditions to help Fairlington residents “de-snow” their cars. The crews worked Sunday and Monday after the first storm, digging out over thirty cars. Tuesday, as the area braced for another storm system to come through, FW&D put out the word that their services would again be available on Thursday. After the second storm dropped feet of snow, ultimately taking to area over it’s all time season high, the crew dug out 24 cars, as well as heat pumps, patios, and stairwells.
In this time of need, FW&D believes that helping out a community is more important than pushing a product, that friends are better than clients, and that being a good neighbor is really what it’s all about.
