New York, NY [11/28/2011] - An Australian patriot is putting her money where her heart is by donating proceeds of her art to military charities in Australia, Britain and the United States. Pets for Patriots, Inc., a not-for-profit dedicated to connecting last-chance shelter pets with service and veteran members of the United States military, is a proud beneficiary of two such projects launched by artist and nascent philanthropist Melissa Jaine.

Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.petsforpatriots.org The Twenty5 Project, which sells affordable instant art for as little as one dollar, was created by Ms. Jaine to help military families beautify their homes on a tight budget. Twenty five cents of every dollar is donated across 25 military charities, including Pets for Patriots.
“After my own personal wake-up call a year ago, in the form of a health scare, I decided to use my creative passion to help bring attention to and support our troops and their families,” says Ms. Jaine.
A related venture, Patriot Portrait, incorporates a photograph provided by the customer, of person or pet, with the country flag of their choice. Ms. Jaine donates $10 of each Pet Portrait to Pets for Patriots on an ongoing basis.
As a special holiday promotion from November 28 to December 5, Melissa Jaine will donate even more to Pets for Patriots. Using the code PETSFORPATRIOTS at checkout, customers will receive $10 off any Patriot Portrait and Ms. Jaine will donate $10 from every order (pet or person) to the charity.
Some might find it curious that an artist half a world away would start a business to support not-for-profits that benefit U.S. military families.
“Even all the way down here in Australia, I was deeply affected by 9/11. It is not lost on me for one second that the U.S. troops and all Australian allies are defending my freedom as well as their own.”
“We love that all of Melissa’s ventures are about making art accessible, with a charitable twist,” says Beth Zimmerman, founder and executive director of Pets for Patriots. “As soon as she approached us with the concept of instant affordable art, we were on board. We’re honored to be a recipient of these very creative ventures that came into being solely to support military families.”
Patriot Portraits are available online at patriotportrait.bigcartel.com, and The Twenty5 Project, featuring one dollar instant art, is available at thetwenty5project.bigcartel.com.
