Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 6, 2011 -- In an era where artists are getting dropped by record labels because of poor sales or other factors, such as, label's inability to adapt to the new paradigm shift in consumer music buying behavior, Kutroc Records is ready to bring in the new year 2012.

"The music business is not what it used to be as informed consumers have more choices than ever when it comes to purchasing music. Although the consumer has power in purchasing music, the radio top 40 list continues to be dominated by the same programming. We believe there are plenty of fans out there that given a chance will choose quality songs over quantity-based songs," said Medina.

Luis Medina started his own record label in 2011 and signed three pop/r&b/hip hop artists from Boston, MA. Kutroc Record's roster consists of recording artists Mateo Medina, Kitarah, and Maverik aka MoneyMav. "Unlike many labels that have a roster of hundreds of artists, Kutroc Record's approach is developing no more than 5 artists at any one time. It's not about the quantity but the quality of everything that we do and that begins with creation of songs," said Medina.

For twenty years, Medina, has worked as an Information Technology (IT) systems consultant in the computer industry, where he held several positions from senior systems engineer to operations manager. "Technology has taught me to embrace change and to constantly improve to meet the demands of the clients," Medina said.

In 2011, Medina decided to return to his true passion, music, and incorporate his new label Kutroc Records, as a corporation in the state of Massachusetts. Medina said he decided to pursue his dream of building an independent record label while learning the recording industry. "This is an exciting time to build a brand in the music industry as technology improvements continue to level the playing field," said Medina.

"Kutroc Records is a different kind of record label," Medina said. "It is an independent label dedicated and focused on developing a few key cross-over artists at a time. A label where artists have a little bit more control over their material and input in the recording process. A label where singers are encouraged to write or co-write each song," Medina said.
