Atlanta Falcons’ Teammates Unite for Linebackers Give Back for Christmas Shopping for Deserving Youths

Atlanta Falcons’ veteran linebacker, Mike Peterson and his Mike Peterson Foundation has spearheaded an evening with his linebacker teammates to give back for the holidays.

December 20, 2010 (ATLANTA)– Atlanta Falcons’ veteran linebacker, Mike Peterson and his Mike Peterson Foundation has spearheaded an evening with his linebacker teammates to give back for the holidays. On Tuesday, December 21 at the Wal-Mart Oakwood, GA location, Linebackers Give Back will pair 16 children with Falcons’ players who will receive a $100 Wal-Mart gift card courtesy of the Mike Peterson Foundation and each participating teammate with the opportunity to shop with a player.
Youth to shop with the players come from various groups and organizations including Wednesday’s Child Adoption Program who will shop with Mike Peterson, Rally Foundation who supports children with childhood cancer whom Curtis Lofton is the spokesperson, and Grove Park Elementary students with whom Mike Peterson Foundation partners.
Participating teammates who will join Mike Peterson to shop with the kids are: Linebackers Curtis Lofton, Spencer Adkins, Robert James, Sean Weatherspoon, and Stephen Nicholas.
The camaraderie with the linebacker core is evident on the field, but is strengthened with off the field activities such as these. Mike Peterson has been active in the Atlanta community since signing with the Falcons in 2009.
The Atlanta Falcons clinched a playoff berth on Sunday with their win against the Seattle Seahawks with a division leading record 12-2.
About The Mike Peterson Foundation
The Mike Peterson Foundation was formed to benefit underserved youth and socio-economically challenged families in his hometown of Alachua, FL and his NFL communities of Jacksonville and Atlanta. About Rally Foundation- Curtis Lofton serves as a spokesman for the Rally Foundation and is an advocate for childhood cancer research. Rally Kids are kids who are currently battling or have battled childhood Cancer.
