We are in the process of working with home improvement businesses, to obtain sponsorship to help us achieve our goal. We are Do It Yourselfer’s, who each own a skill, so that we can build. Our goal is to complete do it yourself projects in each of our homes, without the costly expense of outside labor. In this economy we like to think we are part of the solution. Mr. David Schwartz quotes “Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.”
Our focus of events lies solely on home improvement business. For example, we have been invited to the Woman’s Workshop, which is a new and big deal, toward Home Depot’s brand. Together we can share our mission with other women, who want to create their own groups. This event started out as a quarterly workshop, which will now be monthly, starting in mid November. We like to share our history and expertise in the Do It Yourself community, with other women. Our website is like a forum, where woman can go and see what we’ve done in our communities, videos, photos, and they can submit their own DIY stories. They can go to www.girlsgonediy.com, for more details and stories about our projects and individual skill.
Gayle Reynolds Founder, found something in all of us, she felt that should be put together in what she calls, Girls Gone DIY. Whether it was a skill or a passion, she made the choice. Co-Founder Lisa Smith, saw her vision, and help take it to the next level. We started the process by creating our mission. We wanted people to have an interest in our mission prior to becoming a member, so it was not all about skill. What it all boils down to, we intend to achieve what our mission entails, which contributes to today’s economy.
Our group of ladies, Gayle, Lisa, Gillian and Theresa, has brought something to our tables and communities. We have a Gardner, a Painter, a Floorer, and a Perfectionist. We can all learn from each other and obtain additional skills, for our future success. We will continue home projects until our homes are completed. Our current project is floor tiling. Watch out for our video.
