Auditor Kovack Hosts 16th Annual Great Medina County Chili Cook Off!

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 12, 2010 -- Stoves in Medina County have been busy recently as the ten best chili cooks in Medina County have been warming up for Auditor Michael E. Kovack's 16th annual Great Medina County Chili Cook Off! Defending champions Bill & Linda Pavlick of Outstanding Occasions have tweaked last year's winning recipe. "By my estimate," said Bill, "It's twice as good!"

Emily Lopez of the Medina County Board of Realtors is in the hunt as well as her fellow realtor Caroline Scheiner. Every entrant selects a charity when they enter. If their chili wins a check for $250 is donated to their favorite charity! Emily has selected Save Ohio Strays and Caroline Forgotten Animal Shelter. The animals win either way!

Strong popular sentiment is expected when Polka gurus Gene Kovack and Joe Gabrosek wheel out their chili pot. Hosts of the popular "Polka Time Again", they expect a large following to win for the Medina County Red Cross, their charity. Kevin Ward of Midnight Music DJ Service, Amanda Armstrong of the Medina County ESC Board and Garry Paul & Mark Weber of 1-800-OhioComp are some of the newest entrants to this years competition.

Nicholas Baker of Highland Middle School will become the youngest entrant ever when he competes for the Highland Foundation this year. The Brunswick Democrat Club will liberally season their chili at this year's competition and Ed Haddad of Cherokee Hills Golf Course hopes to score a hole in one with his winning entry!

Tickets for this event are $15 and only $5 per person for students. Besides Chili, some of the best desserts in the county will be at the event along with a cash bar and some wonderful items up for silent auction. Don't be left out! Don't miss it!
