Auditor Kovack Sponsors essay contest for Memorial Day.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 15, 2010 -- Medina County Auditor Michael E. Kovack is sponsoring an essay contest in conjunction with the Wadsworth VFW Post 1089 for all 6th, 7th and 8th grade-level students who are residents of Medina County. Students may select one of five topics on which to write an essay concerning Memorial Day.
The subjects include:

* Interview a person who lived through one of the wars of the 20th century.
* Is freedom worth fighting for?
* Wrtie a biographical profile of a local resdident killed in military action.
* What makes someone a Hero?

* Write an essay on the importance of Memorial Day.

First Place prizes in each grade level will be a $100 U.S. Savings Bond. Winners will also appear with Auditor Kovack on a local public TV show in which they will be interviewed and will read their essays.

Prizes will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd Place in each age group also. The deadline for submission of essays is May 7th.
