(Free-Press-Release.com) August 3, 2010 --“I’ve never had aspirations for political office, but like many people, I’m concerned about the direction of the federal government, out-of-control spending and continued high unemployment,” said Rowland, a mother of three. “Our congressional representatives, including Louise Slaughter, are enacting policies that are hindering job creation, and taxpayers feel their concerns are not being heard. We must rein in spending and get some accountability in Washington.”


Jill Rowland, was born on a US Air Force base in Germany, where her father, Air Force Captain Jay Rowland, was stationed. When her mother became ill and was forced to return to the States, Captain Rowland took on the role full time father in addition to his Air Force duties. Eventually, Jill and her dad settled in the Town of Tonawanda while her father attended UB Dental School.

“My father was and still is a great inspiration to me,” she reflected. “He managed to balance life as a single father, his dedication to the Air Force and our country, and his desire to help others.”

The example of his character and perseverance were a strength to her, when – as a single mother of a three month old and just entering dental school – she was diagnosed with cancer. While many advised her to stop her education, her determination, personal faith and loyal family drove her to complete her studies and become an accomplished dentist.

Today, she lives in Buffalo with her husband and fellow dentist Tim, along with their three children.


With her many life and professional experiences Jill Rowland holds a unique perspective on many issues important to us today, one of those

Health Care Reform Bill.

“I’m dumbfounded that in this day and age that members of Congress would pass legislation without truly understanding the ramifications of the bill,” she remarked. “We seem to have lost the value of common sense in government, and more and more, the average working family doesn’t feel their voice is heard. I want to be their advocate in Washington, as opposed to inside-the-beltway special interests.”

The 28th District encompasses areas in Erie, Monroe, Niagara and Orleans counties.
