Aurora Group Finance: Hilton UK receive a green award

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 30, 2009 -- Hilton Worldwide was nominated the first firm to receive the carbon Trust Standard
award. The UK division of the company was distinguished because of its reduction of
emissions of carbon dioxide.

By associating itself with the Carbon Trust, Hilton Worldwide took some measures in
order to reduce its hotel's carbon dioxide emissions. Because of the consequences of
this resolution, the company was the first hotel firm to receive the Carbon Trust
Standard award.

Measures like upgrading its lights, combining power and heat devices to create
electricity on site or even approaching a sustainability reporting system were the reasons that lead Hilton to receive the award.

Even so, this goal could only be achieved due to the company's proposal of a 20% reduction of its carbon dioxide by 2014, writes Self Catering Breaks News.

Harry Morrison, general manager of Carbon Trust Standard, Hilton Worldwide, said that by bringing down its carbon emissions, the hotel will improve the efficiency of its business.
