(Free-Press-Release.com) October 5, 2011 --
With more than 400,000 students under student visa Australia from around 200 countries who receive an Australian education each year as well as with over 12,000 internationally recognized and world class standards courses offered, Australia is widely recognized as a world leader in the field of international education and English language training.
Australia’s education system has an internationally renowned reputation for having the highest standard and the world's leading education institution with its highly interactive teachings known to develop students’ skills and confidence. Moreover, its university graduates have been well-known to excel at the cutting edge of research and innovation.
Australia’s international education sector has been known to be one of Australia's largest export industries and is essentially significant to Australia in supporting bilateral ties with key partner countries, supporting employment in a broad range of occupations throughout the Australian economy, as well as delivering high-value skills to the economy.
Last December 2010, the Australian government has appointed the former NSW Labor MP, Hon. Michael Knight AO, to conduct the first strategic review of the student visa program with the aim to help enhance the quality, integrity and competitiveness of the student visa program and attract more international students to study and be granted with post-study work visa to Australia.
By March 7 2011, Mr. Knight then released a discussion paper and then last 30th of June 2011, Mr. Knight reported to the government the Strategic Review of the Student Visa Program 2011 with 41 recommendations. Then the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen MP, and Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, Senator Chris Evans, released Mr. Knight's report, Strategic Review of the Student Visa Program 2011 on September 22, 2011.
In response to the report, the Australian government recently announced that it will accept and support in principle all of Mr. Knight's 41 recommendations; however, some recommendations will be modified in places to enhance the performance of the Australian education sector and to better safeguard the integrity of the visa system.
Moreover, the Australian government will implement a suite of measures to further enhance competitiveness in Australia's international education sector. These reforms will be made possible through a new 'genuine temporary entrant' requirement for all Student Visa applicants that will enable the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to better assess applications and attract more international students to apply for student visas to Australia.
Some of its recommendations include University graduates who have completed a Bachelor degree or Masters by coursework in Australia are proposed to be eligible for a two year post-study work visa in Australia while University graduates who have completed a Masters by research or PhD degree in Australia are proposed to be eligible for a post-study working visa in Australia for three or four years, respectively.
Implementation of the majority of the proposals is expected to be done between October 2011 and mid 2012, with some other changes expected to commence in early 2013.
National Visas Updated Student Visa Services
Meanwhile, in line with the recent Strategic Review of the Student Visa Program 2011, National Visas, the world leader in Australian immigration advices and visa services provider with thousands of people having used National Visas in their application for Australian visa and have received their Australia visa in the last year alone, has recently updated their Australia student visa services.
With National Visas recently updated and newly improved Australia student visa online assessment which is designed to instantly determine if international student visa applicants are eligible to apply for a visa to Australia, visa applicants are now provided with a clear-cut and much easier way in identifying the type of student visa subclass available for them.
If eligible to apply for an Online Student Visa, visa applicants will be able to apply for the Australia student visa online in just 5 minutes. However, if they are not eligible to apply for a student visa online, National Visas will recommend an alternative service for them, which will depend on their passport nationality.
