(Free-Press-Release.com) November 16, 2010 --
Arliss Adams, author of two new gripping romantic suspense books —Devil’s Dance and The Devil’s Due, was shocked by some of her research. Her books are the fictional tale of a sixteen-year-old aspiring ballerina who was kidnapped in the late 1950’s and sold into a brothel and the nightmare of a life that followed. Fortunately, since this is fiction, her protagonist is able to survive and achieve success as an adult.

http://www.devils-dance.com Adams says most people would be stunned to know that situations not unlike those depicted in the first two books in her Twist of Fate series are going on not just in Middle Eastern and Asian countries, but right here in the United States as recently as today.
Teenage girls have been kidnapped and either lured into or sold into brothels or prostitution for many years. The most recent was recounted today, November 16 – San Antonio, TX: A teenage girl who police say was kidnapped in San Antonio and sold for sex has been reunited with her family. November 10—Los Angeles: An ex-felon has pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles to charges of kidnapping two teenage girls and forcing them into prostitution. These are just two of the stories that don’t always capture national attention.
Adams says she felt compelled to create these two works of fiction for many years. Haunted by stories she had heard about such kidnappings, she started working on them sixteen years ago. The author says it took her that long to be able to write the fear and need for retribution in a way that would grab the reader and not let go until the surprising end. She has dedicated her books to all of the girls and young women who have suffered kidnap and rape experiences—those who survived and those who didn’t.
She feels it is easy to feel safe in thinking things like that happen to other people. They don’t strike near to home. Adams shows that isn’t necessarily so. In her books, the kidnappers are the victim’s friends. A few years ago a teenage found herself in a similar situation in California, the victim of her friend's father. That girl managed to escape and tell her story to the media.
Ginger Simpson, National Ebook Examiner for www.examiner.com says of The Devil's Due: “I applaud the author and her publisher for broaching a topic most houses won't touch. Be warned, this story, as with the first, is not for the faint of heart.”
The first chapter of Devil’s Dance may be read on www.firstchapterplus.com. The books are available at most online bookstores and many of your favorite neighborhood bookstores. If they are not in stock, they can easily be ordered.
