Author Calinda B Releases A Wicked Beginning, Book II in the Paranormal Romance Wicked Series

Seattle, Washington, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 25, 2012 -- Graphic artist and author Calinda B announces the release of A Wicked Beginning: Book II in the Wicked Series (ISBN 9780983912620). A Wicked Beginning is the sequel to A Wicked Awakening, Calinda B’s first novel in the Wicked Series of paranormal romances featuring heroine Chérie (Cheerio) Manhattan.

Like A Wicked Awakening, A Wicked Beginning begins in Seattle, Washington, this time with a focus on Chérie Manhattan’s boyfriend, Cam Tyson. An active kayaker and rock climber, and a counselor for abusive men at a drug and alcohol recovery center, Cam has recently moved into a house owned by his friend, Manoko (Mano) Wikaira-Williams, a Maori spirit tracker. Cam begins experiencing strange attacks from a supernatural being, drawing him, Chérie, and Mano into a battle against the creature with help from Mano’s ancient elders. When co-worker and former lover, Angela Myer, begins to stalk Cam through the use of magic and nightmares, he faces yet another clash of wills that threatens to destroy him and end his relationship with Chérie for good.

“I have always been fascinated with tribal cultures, shamanic practice, mysticism and spirituality,” said Calinda. “Writing this second book in the Wicked Series helped me to combine my interest in the world of spirituality with the paranormal as well as touch upon the deep wounds which can result from childhood abuse. A Wicked Beginning also allowed me to give a voice to Cherie’s boyfriend, Cam, whose spiritual awakening and healing in this book parallels Chérie’s in Book I. I believe that spiritual practices – sensual and mystical – can be embraced by both male and female partners, and I’m happy that Cam experiences his own ‘wicked beginning’ in this book.”
