FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Atlanta (Metro And Surrounding Areas), Georgia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 11, 2010 --

I dedicate a chapter and a poem to the Rutgers 2007 Women's Basketball Team for their "Undaunted Stance" against racism and sexism. Being a student athlete isn't an easy feat author R.J. Rahman knows from experience, add final exams, keeping your grade point average up to an acceptable level, and training for the Women's Final Four in basketball is an incredible task. Then after getting through the Final Four in basketball and becomming one of the final two women's teams playing for that number one spot in Women's Basketball. It takes a lot of heart to say the least.
Meanwhile, while playing for the championship the majority of the female African American players on the team were being called horrible names by talk radio show host Don Imus and other guest commentators that were on his talk radio show.

The African American players were ridiculed because of their skin color and presumed hair texture. After the playoff game, after obtaining the number two spot in Women's College Basketball, after bringing pride and honor to Rutgers University as a team. Then having to turn around as a team and demand an apology from talk radio show host Don Imus for his satirical
comments " Wow" I applaud you all.

I am so prowed of the members of the 2007 Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team and Coach for your "Courage" and "Undaunted Stance" against the disrespectful comments made toward the African American members of the team. I must say that it was your courage that inspired me to write and publish the poetry that I had in journals about Black hair, Culture and Heritage. You all not only stood up for yourselves, you stood up for all Black women and people in America and throughout the world. I dedicate chapter six and a poem at the end of chapter six called "Ancestral Hairstyles" to all of the members of the 2007 Rutgers University Women's Basketball team. It's now September 2010 but it was my first book I finished it in two years and the editing, it took almost an entire year. I hope that you all approve... this book is for you all and for , and for all interested in the subject of Black Hair.

Black Hair In the 21st Century Poetry that Gets To the Root of the Matter; is "the First Book of Its Kind, that addtesses the Don Imus controversy and the state of Black Hair today". This book is also " the First Book of Poetry that chronicles the history of Black Hair. This Book is endorsed by Dr. Cornel West and Poet/ Nikki Giovanni.
