The Bridge Collapse Murder by S.L. Jensen is no longer available from Publish America! S.L. Jensen announces that Publish America has released her from the seven year contract effective February 10, 2011. Jensen signed a contract with Publish America in the fall of 2007 the book was released in early 2008. The Bridge Collapse Murder was not edited by the publishing company. No changes were asked to be made by the publisher. Even though the author did all she could to edit her own work; fully expecting a professional edit by the publisher the book was printed and released with numerous mistakes.

Jensen became very concerned about the book upon receipt of copies it. When she asked if they would make corrections Publish America said not unless the author would pay a rather high price for editing. At this time the author realized this was not a “traditional publishing” company after all.

What Jensen discovered was that her so called publisher had a track record of printing anything, even adding to existing mistakes in the process. Books at Publish America for the most part are not sold or marketed to the public or industry. Publish America sells directly to the author. The books are over priced, full of errors, and the cheapest quality paper and art work used for production. Most large book stores will not stock Publish America books. This author’s so called hard back was a paper cover over a black hard back that did not have a title or any text any where on the hard cover. If you removed the paper cover you would never know what the book might be named.

Jensen had asked to be released from the contract many times but Publish America’s reply was they felt the book was marketable as is! By doing Internet searches Jensen found hundreds of similar complaints about Publish America. An author has no way to track the sales or marketing of their book with PA. They have a contract that is carefully worded to allow Publish America to con and misrepresent the actual intentions of the company. This document is designed to give PA rights; all rights and the authors are left to deal with the abuse, misrepresentation and manipulation of the book and having no rights at all. The contract is for seven years.

The book, The Bridge Collapse Murder is no longer available through Publish America. The copyright and all rights have been returned to the author. Used copies might be available in a few places but basically this book no longer exists. The ISBN assigned to the book is also no longer valid.

Jensen highly recommends that any one that wants to publish a book read all of the sites for the industry, all of the complaints sites and when reading positive and promotional material about Publish America consider the source. Publish America is a bait and switch scam that should be stopped.

S. L. Jensen is happy to be free of Publish America. Presently she is rewriting her book and seeking a legitimate publisher.
