New York City, NY - November 2, 2010 - Miyoko Davey is a well known connaisseur of Japonisme art whose collection will be on display in Tokyo at the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum in June 2011. Mrs. Davey and her husband started collecting Inukai's paintings in the late 1980's by accident: when redecorating their apartment in New York City, they came across their first Inukai. Seeing that she shared her homeland with the artist, she set about collecting his works and researching his life. During this process she came across an unpublished autobiography of the artist, which she is planning to publish next year to mark the 125 year anniversary of his birth.

Inukai worked at the turn of the 20th century in America, and his classic style is reflective of his contemporary portrait painters, such as John Sargent. While he is relatively unknown to the general public, this artist appears was widely respected by his peers.

However, Mrs. Davey's work on Inukai is not done: in preparation for an exhibition in 2013, which will be the largest ever display of his work, she is actively searching for his 14 missing paintings.

The images of the missing 14 paintings by Kyohei Inukai are available from Mrs. Davey. Finder's fees will be available.
