Whilst the 2012 Olympic Games may still seem a long way off, Avanta Managed Offices has already started issuing guidance notes to its clients so that they can start planning now to avoid the expected London-wide travel chaos between 27th July – 12th August 2012.

“As a member of London First, the Avanta team has attended a number of briefings on planning for the Olympics,” comments David Kinnaird, Avanta's operations director. “Avanta has a key role in sharing all of the knowledge we have so far gleaned with our clients to help them with their planning."

With more than one million ticketed spectators due in London on the busiest day of the games, combined with the traffic generated by press, officials and sightseers, the Games have the potential to make business travel hard or impossible. In the same token, unless business travel is reduced, retimed or re-routed, travel for the Games will also be impossible.

“Whilst large businesses are well on their way with preparations, there is a concern that most small businesses have not yet begun their planning,” Kinnaird continues.”Smaller businesses should start planning now to minimise travel disruption to employees to ensure that their business continues to run smoothly throughout the Olympics.

“Aside from the transport planning, Avanta will enable those people who are able to get into the office to enjoy the games by providing coverage of the Olympics on large screens in all of our 18 UK centres.”
