Award-Winning Director Ryan Lightbourn will Showcase Short Film at July's Action on Film Festival

Pasadena, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) June 3, 2011 -- Pasadena, CA – Ryan Lightbourn’s “Roid Rage” will be screening at the seventh annual Action on Film Festival between July 22nd and 30th, 2011 in Pasadena, California. While attracting filmmakers, writers, fans, and celebrities, the festival will be featuring more than 600 independent films from talented filmmakers across the world.

Lightbourn’s horror/comedy short entitled “Roid Rage” is the story Sammy Jenkins, a man who suffers a genetic mutation that sends his world spiraling out of control. As both the FBI and the men responsible for his unfortunate deformity hunt him down, Sammy must fight back with the unique abilities the mutation has armed him with.

Action on Film Festival creator Del Weston says, “although the premise of ‘Roid Rage’ is not the prettiest, the production value, comedy, and mockery within the film make it a huge hit. It’s one of those things that you can’t bear to look at, yet find impossible to look away from. We love this movie.”

Working within a small budget, Ryan Lightbourn immersed himself in every facet of the short film’s production. This movie-making machine did it all – from the film’s initial conception down to the final audience-ready production.

Lightbourn says, “my goal in making this short film was to show producers what I could do working with a limited budget.” He goes on to say, “for me, filmmaking started as a hobby but as each work got better and better, I realized my potential in becoming a successful filmmaker.”
