http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1391062/ Award-winning independent film director JAYDEE® screens her latest documentary “Flight 587 Honor” at the State University of New York (SUNY) Albany’s Campus Center Building Assembly Hall on Sunday, March 27, 2011. The film, which honors the memory of the victims of the second largest aviation accident on US soil – a Dominican Republic-bound flight from Kennedy Airport which crashed in Queens, NY in November 2001 - will be presented as part of the Leadership Summit between 11:00am - 3:00pm. Admission to the 52-minute film is free with seating on a first come, first served basis followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker. The SUNY Albany campus is located at 1400 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY and for additional information, contact Yessica Pinales, NLCC Coordinator at yessica.pinales@gmail.com.
Produced by Another JAYDEE Production, LLC, the film focuses on the family members of five victims. Filmed in New York and the Dominican Republic, “Flight 587 Honor” also examines a number of elements surrounding the crash that the director feels had not been publicized. The screening is presented by Fuerza Latina's 21st Annual National Latino Collegiate Conference with attendees from over 17 colleges expected to participate in the three-day event. For further information go to www.fuerzanlcc.org.
Following a well-received February screening at SUNY New Paltz, the filmmaker with over 20 years of film and television experience stated that she was looking forward to presenting the film as the Conference as "it will offer a platform to mark the tenth anniversary of the event and a chance to discuss & reflect on the tragedy with Latino students and educators in an academic setting.”
Having directed the award winning romantic comedy “Closure” (Best USA Narrative Short-2007 Women’s International Film Festival and Best Short Comedy-2010 Hamptons Black International Film Festival) the Brooklyn, NY-born director also produced the romantic short “One More Try,”
“Flight 587 Honor” was made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Queens Council on Arts. For additional information, contact JAYDEE® of Another JAYDEE Production, LLC at onejaydee@hotmail.com
