Babies in Bloom Celebrates, Gives Back to Community

For babies who are born prematurely or with health problems that require specialized treatment, Tri-City Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides the latest high-tech advances and professional, individualized care in a specialized nursery. A parent familiar with the center, Christen Drexler noted, "When our twin boys were born premature at 35 weeks, I was anxious and nervous about their health and how the next few weeks would look. It was because of our good start in the NICU that we have been so successful." The unit will use funds raised through the event to purchase equipment and supplies to enhance the experience of NICU families.

The celebration will include a sing-along concert with San Diego favorite Hullabaloo, beginning at 1:00pm. The musical duo consists of Steve Denyes and Brendan Kremer, who combine folk, rock and alt-country styles to create entertaining songs that get children moving, thinking and singing along. “You’ll hear traces of twang, funk, rock, folk and blues in our songs. We play the time-tested favorites we all grew up with and we write songs that make kids laugh, think, sing, dance, clap and stomp their feet.”

Babies in Bloom has been in business for six years offering support for families, including prepared childbirth classes, lactation education, consultation, postpartum support, labor doula services. They provide various weekly activities, including baby yoga and sign language, and a retail store offering a wide selection of natural products for mothers, mothers-to-be, babies and toddlers.

More than twenty representatives for the various classes and products will be available during the free event.
