Roadside Willies will be swinging once again on Friday March 4, 2011 to the sounds of the 18-piece Back Alley Big Band led by music director Paul Barrett. A big band is a type of musical ensemble associated with playing jazz music, and which became popular during the Swing Era from the early 1930s until the late 1940s. Big bands evolved with the times and continue to today. A big band typically consists of approximately 12 to 25 musicians and contains saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. The terms jazz band, jazz ensemble, stage band, jazz orchestra, society band and dance band may be used to describe a specific type of big band.

This special evening of music will showcase top musicians from Nova Scotia. The previous show sold out with over 100 people on the waiting list so act fast and book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Preference will be given to those reserving seats for dinner before the show. We do our best to get people the seating they want. However, in order to maximize the seating, private tables of less than four people may not be available. Bar seats and tables for all three sections (front, middle and back) are sold on a first-come-first-served basis. If the section you prefer is sold out, you will be seated in the next best alternative section. Tickets are $15 per person and must be purchased prior to the event.
