Even with today's nifty Hi Definition cameras it's hard to shoot, edit and distribute a feature film for $25,000 (£15,000). But that's exactly what Guvnor Films has managed to achieve with it's first supernatural horror film, Bad Reception.
Bad Reception tells the story of Ben Anderson (Randy Brown), a writer who travels to Hollywood to make his fortune as a writer. On the way he finds a TV by the side of the road and that is where his troubles start!
Directed by British writer/director Mark A. Todd, the film stars a cast of new young LA talent and a sound track of catchy music from LA and UK artists.
"We didn't have a huge budget but we did want to give the film as much production value as possible" says Todd. This is evident when the film opens, with some beautiful aerial shots of Downtown LA and Hollywood.
The film has received good reviews so far, with Rogue Cinema describing the quality of the film as "superb" and going on to say "Roger Corman himself would be proud of the quality of this film, made for such a small amount of money!
Bad Reception is currently available from Amazon for streaming and download. For those who enjoy physical media, the DVD will be available from Amazon in February, but can be purchased direct from Guvnor Films website (www.guvnorfilms.com)if you can't wait.
