Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.charter-bahamas.com Bull Run – Home of the Shark Feed!! The feeding arena is a flat sand area at 58’ surrounded on three sides by 20’ high coral heads. After being seated by your dive master, watch in amazement as Caribbean Reef Sharks, Nurse Sharks, and Black Grouper compete for a piece of the action. After the feeding, explore the dozens of swim throughs in this high profile reef system.
The Strip – This 40’ deep site features a 200’ long strip of low profile coral heads that are teaming with marine life. Too many species to count inhabit this small reef system. Look carefully for the half dozen Spotted Scorpion fish that live here as well as the Green Spotted and Goldentail Morays. A perfect location to study fish identification.
Tuna Alley – Equally good as a stationary or drift dive, this reef extends over half a mile. The Gulf Stream currents that wash across this site about 50% of the time have kept this reef system very healthy. The extensive high profile coral heads start at 45’ and slope down to 80’ with canyon like swim throughs between them. Watch for large resident Loggerhead Turtles and occasional Reef or Nurse Sharks.
Victory Reef – One of the premier reef systems in the Bahamas. This 35’ – 70’ sloping reef extends for over a mile and makes a breath taking drift dive when the Gulf Stream current reaches this Far East. When the current is slack, several sites offer anything and everything form juvenile Spotted Drums to large pelagic.
Hesperus (Wreck) – If you are a fan of turtles, you will love this site. On any given night, a half dozen or more enormous Loggerhead Turtles come to visit this wreck, which sits in 18’ of water on the Grand Bahama Bank. Greater Amberjack, Cobia, Nurse Sharks, Lemon Sharks and dozens of Barracuda are amongst the other large creatures encountered here.
Bimini Wall – Gaze into the abyss!! The large mounds of coral start at 70, and drop off a two thousand foot deep wall. Gulf Stream currents have kept this reef healthy and make for an awe – inspiring drift dive. Watch for large pelagic swimming in the deep blue (including the occasional hammerhead).
Sapona (Wreck) – This famous concrete wreck is equally rich in history and marine life. The depth is 15’, but the top of the wreck is 33’ above the surface. Dive or snorkel through the wreck in a non-overhead environment and be greeted by the large, smiling Porcupine fish. See if you can find one of the 50 caliber shells that are now encrusted in coral.
Miami Rita (Wreck) – A tug and a barge collided to form this 35’ deep dive site. Morays, Octopi, Crabs, and huge lobster inhabit this maze of twisted metal, while Turtles, Southern Stingrays and large Jacks patrol the out skirts of this wreck.
Orange Cay
Antler – Named after a field of Staghorn coral, this reef extends as far as you can swim in any direction. Depth ranges form 60’ – 80’ in this extensive system of medium profile heads. Prolific marine life abounds amongst the healthy hard and soft corals. Expect to be shadowed by curious Caribbean Reef Sharks throughout this dive.
Space Mountain – A veritable mountain of extremely healthy coral. Depths range from 60’ – 90’ around this mound of coral that extends to within 40’ of the surface. Large Grouper and Hogfish are amongst the menagerie of marine life that will visit you on this site.
