Baltimore Fashion Week introduces new initiative Emerging Designer Competition

Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 13, 2011 -- Butterfly Production (BFP) is rapidly entering into its 5th production of Baltimore Fashion Week-end (BFWe). BFWe is a 3-day event and will run Friday, August 17, 2012 through Sunday. August 19, 2012

This introduction of a new and groundbreaking program, the Emerging Designer Competition will encourage and facilitate creativity on a nationwide level for middle, high school, and college students.

“We have already begun the phases to expand our reach nationally by reaching out to these educational levels that harbor a fashion sense within its educational infrastructure,” stated Nixon, President/Executive Producer of BFP.

Interested students must submit a fully completed registration packet and include the necessary documents by the submission deadline of February 1, 2012. Once the packet is received, it will be reviewed, and a decision will be rendered by February 15, 2012.

The nationwide search for the next up and coming designer will be partnered with the media sponsorship from Linger Magazine. Partnering with Linger Magazine allows BFP a national and international pathway expansion. Linger Magazine’s publication audience expands across the globe.

Applicants who advance to the Semi-Finalist level will be invited to the Baltimore Fashion Week Scholarship Award Preview Dinner, where guests of the fundraiser will electronically cast votes to name the 2012 Emerging Designer of BFWe. The winning student will showcase on opening night, August 17, 2012.
