As an enhancement to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation supplied by Qurius, Barcode-IT have installed Datalogic Kyman mobile terminals to give real-time access to the new ERP system for the factory workforce.

The new factory and ERP system have been setup to provide new ranges of frozen ready meals for Iceland Foods and the ERP system supplied by Qurius, provides greater levels of efficiency and functionality, driven in part by the use of Mobile Terminals connected in real time to Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and able to scan barcodes to input data. The mobile terminals are Datalogic Kymans, which are often recommended by Barcode-IT for ERP systems that manage manufacturing in tough industrial environments.

In addition, the final shipping process is enhanced by the use of NiceLabel Suite which produces the EAN 128 pallet labels on four Datamax O'Neil H-6208 barcode label printers. NiceLabel Suite allows the printing of complex barcode labels, such as SSCC and EAN 128 shipping labels, to be printed on the fly with a direct connection to the Navision SQL database. This ensures that the data on the label is always accurate, speeding shipping and eliminating errors.

NiceLabel Suite can be used in fully automatic mode using NiceWatch, which monitors Navision looking for print jobs, or in semi-automatic mode where data is still pulled from SQL, but an operator may need to add batch or lot number information prior to final label printing.

All barcode labels are printed using Datamax O'Neil H-Class printers, which are rated for 100% duty cycle in industrial and manufacturing environments.
