Barristerlink.com is a revolutionary new business tool for solicitors and barristers chambers
Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.barristerlink.com The service is free to solicitors and is paid for by chambers who pay a monthly marketing fee once they have become members. A solicitor with a case to cover, completes an on line form, with the basic case details which is then sent as an email to all chambers which are registered for that particular category of work.
When completing the form being sent to chambers, solicitors are asked to set out the basis of funding, i.e. private, CFA or Legal Aid. Additionally they can then ask chambers to quote a fee for the case if the matter is privately funded, or alternatively they can propose a fee, and see what counsel and level experience the various chambers can offer.
Chambers then respond to the email enquiry, which is sent through the barristerlink web portal and directly to the enquiring solicitor.
Importantly the email which is sent out to chambers does not disclose the details of the firm or organisation. Should a solicitor then wish to brief a barrister from one of the responding chambers, they then contact them in the usual way via phone or email. In this way the service does not interfere with the usual relationship between solicitors and chambers.
The benefit for solicitors of the service is that it saves an enormous amount of time contacting numerous chambers by phone or email and allows them to compare the responses they get back.
The service can also be used by any organisation that has employed solicitors within it, such as the CPS and local authority legal departments, insurers and other new legal alternative business structures.
Local authorities often need to instruct counsel at short notice, so being able to check the availability of counsel in numerous sets of chambers by completing one simple online form which takes less than 2 minutes to complete will be extremely useful.
The software within the site is highly specific so an online enquiry form for example looking for counsel to cover a personal injury fast track trial at Maidstone County Court will only be sent to chambers that have registered for this legal area of practice and this geographic area of the country. Solicitors can select the seniority of counsel (0-5 years, 6-10 years, 11 years plus, or QC) or alternatively select No preference)
