Bassist Jair-Rohm Parker Wells has a number of gigs - both live and on record - under his belt. From his days as a session bassist in the 1970s in Munich, Germany to being a founding member of New York's avant-rock iconoclast Machine Gun and beyond. His contributions to the Apple Loops library (most of the electric bass guitars) are used by producers and songwriters worldwide every day. His distinctive voice is heard on hits by Britney Spears, Five and many others. He has toured the world as bassist with the Dr. Alban band as well as on his own, performing and lecturing at prestigious institutions as Xinghai Conservatory (Guangzhou, China) and Kulturama (Stockholm, Sweden) , the Village Gate, St. Peter's Church, the legendary Knitting Factory (New York), The Vortex Jazz Club, Cafe Oto (London) and many more. He continues to offer his widely acclaaimed ervices to aspiring and established songwriters, beat makers and producers via the online, global marketplace Fiverr (http://fiverr.com/trkkazulu/play-bass-on-your-track). A "Level Two" seller on Fiverr, Jair-Rohm has consistently delivered one hundred percent satisfaction to his many customers. A number of these customers return week after week to order bass tracks from him which he performs on either NSD electric upright, bass guitar or synth bass - depending on what the client and Jair-Rohm agree that the track requires. Turn-around for one bass track is two days. The production process is iterative, with Jair-Rohm and the client passing the track back and forth until it is exactly right. Great care is taken to assure that the client gets exactly what they want and the testimonials prove this:

"Perfection"

"As usual he took the time to give me exactly what I wanted. Cool."

"Great Job, Creative and friendly. will order again n again . Thank you"

"A true musician! Gave me 2 different variations of bass for my hip-hop track, and even included some extra "spices" for me to sprinkle on the song. Will be using his service often. A GREAT FIVVER!"

and the praise continues.

A new release!

MussoMusic (http://mussomusic.com/), the award-winning progressive music label of super producer/engineer Robert Musso (Bill Laswell, Transonic, Lunar Bear Ensemble, Machine Gun, etc) will be releasing a new drummer-less trio set lead by Jair-Rôhm entitled "Above The Convergence". Recorded in Freiberg, Germany last Spring, the set features Marco Eneidi on Alto Sax and Simone Weißenfels on Piano and electronics. In addition to the NSD electric upright bass, Jair-Rôhm also contributes electronic textures via an iPad running a combination of commercial and original software. The projected release date is February 15. Check out MussoMusic (http://mussomusic.com/) for further details.

Live dates

Two exciting live projects will dominate this year. Both based in Bangkok, Thailand, the first is an entertainment concept dubbed "Beautiful Music in Beautiful Places". Jair-Rôhm has assembled a collective of five outstanding musicians to perform "Ambience Adapted Music". The targets for these performances are restaurants and lounges where the clientele and atmosphere would be disrupted by a conventional band or DJ. Drawing equally on compositions and improvisation, "Beautiful Music in Beautiful Places" endevours to become a fixture on the Asian music scene. The musicians are: Doru Apreotesei; Piano, Bruno Brugnano; Guitar, Warren Fryar; Voice, Dale Lee; Drums and Didier Mpondo; Drums and Voice. Bass Life

In March, Jair-Rôhm, together with Thai bass sensation, Jibb Wicudej (http://tinyurl.com/3yzzffg), will present a series of bass and rhythm section performance workshops. The first of these will take place at The Bass Room in Bangkok, Thailand on March 15th. The two bassists will be joined by a drummer and will take the attendees though a presentation covering: the role of the bass, what and how to practice, your relationship to your instrument and what Is "groove". Jair-Rôhm will use his NSD WAV4 exclusively for the workshop and also demonstrate progressive bowing techniques for contemporary music. Who says you can't play funky on an upright?

April sees the bassist's return to China. This year, Jair-Rôhm will tour China with his own trio of Bruno Brugnano on guitar and Didier Mpondo on drums and voice as "The Just Jazz Trio" performing original compositions as well as charts by Pat Metheny, Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler. An all-original release by the trio is being planned for later this year. Tour dates and venues to be announced.

In the studio

Jair-Rôhm Parker Wells wrapped up 2012 with three very diverse recording projects. First out of the gate was the CD release "Aeen" by Persian singer/songwriter Anis Moin (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/anismoin). A twelve song collection or original, contemporary Persian songs composed by Anis Moin and arranged by Yaşar Erdoğan, the instruments were recorded in Istanbul, Turkey while Jair-Rôhm oversaw the vocal production, mixing and mastering in studios in Sweden and Thailand. The album is available from CDBaby as well as the other principal digital distribution services (Spotify, iTunes, etc). This was the follow up to the duo's first collaboration, the protest song "Human Rights" (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FdhE8mXDaxE) which Ms. Moin wrote and released in response to the 2009 Iranian presidential election.

Next is the CD/book combo-release by Swedish songstress Mia Sandberg. The package entitled "Inte samma måne" was co-produced by Mia Sandberg, Guitarist Coste Apetrea and Jair-Rôhm who also played bass on a number of tracks. Released in shops in Sweden this past August, the offering will be available digitally through CDBaby and the other principal digital distribution services (Spotify, iTunes, etc). Combining ninteen songs, original paintings and prose, "Inte samma måne" explores

the ins and outs of how best to weather the challenges of ending a relationship.

Another Sweden-based project featuring the music of Jair-Rôhm Parker Wells is the upcoming collection of poems by poetess and photographer Jane Morén. Jair-Rohm's association with Jane goes back to 1999 when they first worked together in the poetry group "Sjunde Paragrafen" for which Jair-Rôhm produced an epononymous CD (http://tinyurl.com/aerpjhr). The new upcoming collection will include Jane's "hit" poem "Papa" among other new works framed by Jair-Rohm's sonic treatments.
