Asked if eBooks are selling well this Season, Bue responded, “I understand the sales numbers are skyrocketing at places such as Barnes and Noble with its Nook, as well as Amazon with its Kindle, and Sony and Kobo, too.”

Kelly's Frontier is a children's story about the first year in the life of an actual puppy named Kelly. This ebook includes Homer, Alaska, photographs of the wildlife Kelly encounters as she learns to live in her new Alaskan home. Patricia A. Bue started writing this lovely children's book as soon as she welcomed her new puppy, Kelly, into her home. The photographs taken in and around Homer, Alaska, track the development of the puppy and her adventures with other Alaskan wildlife during her first year with Patricia and her husband Jon.

Switching to thrillers, Baxter Bog Interlude is set in pristine Baxter Bog Park in east Anchorage, Alaska.

The other thriller, Night of the Tustumena, is an illustrated novel featuring an enigmatic creator of an Alaskan drug route. He encounters problems on his last voyage to Dutch Harbor aboard the Alaska State Ferry Tustumena.

Baxter Bog Cards & Collectibles and its affiliate website, Alaska eBooks Alaskan Authors, are a family affair. Jon K. Bue and his wife Patricia A. Bue started Baxter Bog Cards & Collectibles over a year ago. They focus on quality sales and service, selling not only baseball cards and other collectibles, such as antique jewelry, but are selling Homer, Alaska, beach rocks and even Mount Redoubt volcanic ash.

The ebook idea started when Patricia wrote the children's story Kelly's Frontier. Once she finished the manuscript, the Bues thought to make an ebook using Patricia's own Homer, Alaska, photographs.

Enter lifelong Alaskan Arne L. Bue. Born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska, he now lives with his wife Shirley Bue, also an author, in Anchorage, Alaska. He'd authored the original trade paperback version of Baxter Bog Interlude, Northwest Publishing, 1994. His son Jon, sells this trade paperback in his eBay store, Baxter Bog Cards & Collectibles, offering buyers personalized author signatures.

As it turns out, Arne L. Bue and Shirley S. Bue both had already created other manuscripts. The Lid, Night of the Tustumena, and Banto Carbon and the Prehistoric Proboscis were written by Arne L. Bue. Shirley wrote the literary Humble Snyder.

Arne Bue transformed these manuscripts into ebooks.

"Baxter Bog Cards & Collectibles are the printers of these ebooks," said Bue, "and I'm the guy who does the printing."

“First, I transformed the manuscripts into Adobe PDF format to sell them at eBook Mall. Then Smashwords published all of our titles and took care of the major distribution work after I got the copyrights and ISBNs," he added.

As one goes through the website, Alaska eBooks Alaskan Authors, one sees how easy it is to download Adobe Flash Player® and Adobe Digital Editions®. "A few clicks, you're ready to go," Bue said.

“If you want to get set up right away on your PC,” he added, “it's good to have Adobe Digital Editions® because, for example, if you own a Nook, it makes it easy to borrow PDF formatted eBooks from libraries and return them early, although having that application isn't necessary.”

“You can even lend some of the Barnes and Noble books that you own to others,” he added.
