Along with having the time of her life as she begins recognizing that the sleuth world is definitely her calling, she also discovers that friendship is the best thing in the world and a thing worth fighting for. In their wild ride to solve Bella’s murder, Clancy is taken prisoner by two conniving crooks named Darla and Slick who are after the money, jewels, drugs, and Bella’s recipes. They have no misgiving about kidnapping the young girl to suit their wicked needs. Having initially coerced Clancy in assisting in her determination to solve the murder, Lana feels responsible for Clancy’s kidnapping and sets out to battle Darla and Slick, putting her own life at risk to save Clancy.
Lana's blueprints to the solving murders in the tiny community of Sauganash nestled in the big city of Chicago are not-of-the-norm and are hilarious! This is great reading for young adults and adults alike.
