PARAMUS, N.J., April 8, 2010 – The Bergen chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) invites area professionals and families to network and meet key members of Sky Blue FC (Football Club), a professional women’s soccer team, on Wednesday, April 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is being sponsored by The NIA Group at the agency’s office at 66 Route 17 North in Paramus. The price is $20 for all adult attendees and free for children. Children ages 8 and up are welcome to attend, meet the players and have their photos taken with them.
Joining the women business owners and guests will be Head Coach Paulina Miettinen, a native of Finland, and players Heather O’Reilly of East Brunswick and Yael Averbuch of Montclair. O’Reilly and Averbuch were teammates on the national championship team at the University of North Carolina. O’Reilly is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and Averbuch is also a member of the US National Team.
“These players are inspirations for young girls and will share their stories of determination and what it takes to realize a dream,” said Stephanie Mace, NJAWBO-Bergen’s programming chair. “We hope many area business professionals will come to network and enjoy this fun event with their families.”
Space is limited and advance reservations are strongly recommended. For reservations call the NJAWBO-Bergen hotline at (201) 444-8773, ext 3 or send an email to dinner@njawbobergen.org. Pre-registration at the event starts at 5:45 p.m.; light snacks and soft drinks will be served.
NJAWBO is the oldest statewide organization focused on the needs and concerns of women business owners. Established in 1978, its primary objective is to support and encourage business ownership by women by providing them with the tools to develop and grow their enterprises; it does so through networking, partnering, leadership, education and political advocacy. Classes, seminars, and informational events are offered to members and aspiring entrepreneurs through NJAWBO and NJAWBO’s Women’s Business Center. There are thirteen chapters throughout New Jersey.
