Berks Technology Solutions Helps Victims of Government Ignorance

Pottsville, Pennsylvania, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 20, 2010 -- What started out as an attempt to pay a parking ticket on the website for The Reading Parking Authority in Reading, PA, turned into a disaster. For almost 6 months, the official website for The Reading Parking Authority was laced with a virus if you attempted to access the site.

The virus was discovered by Marci Heckman, wife of Berks Technology Solutions owner Matt Heckman. When Matt Heckman looked into the matter, it put together a lot of pieces as to why his clients were getting computer viruses.

When we talked to Matt Heckman he said this, "Almost every virus incident over the past few months was in one way, shape, or form connected to an attempt to pay a parking ticket online at The Reading Parking Authority. Our organization noticed this over the course of 6 months, but some of our clients insist that it may have been there for almost a year. The sad part was The City of Reading, City Council, and The Reading Parking Authority refused to acknowledge that the virus even existed, going so far as to call us liars. At that point we documented the incident and put it up on youtube as a warning. In the end I'm proud that my company was a great asset to helping the citizens of our community get over this."

The Reading Parking Authority as since addressed the virus, but still refuses that the virus even existed in the first place.

Some safety tips to computer users. When encountered with a case like this, you never want to continue, and you especially never want to use your credit card on such a site.
