Berlin revs on fashion week with vintage opening

Head designer Lena Hoschek, of Austrian descent, chose to focus on the economic regression that the world is currently facing – coming up with designs gained from an inspiration with the 1940s and '50s famous vintage looks.

“The design of my creations (is) simpler and cheaper, although my creations here might be not cheaper, but at the least the shape of my collection is more low-key”, she muses during a press conference.

Hoschek's was one of the first shows at the event near Berlin's landmark Brandenburg Gate, AP finishes.

The fact that Hoscheck used the regression as an inspiration for her dresses would only mean one thing: that the differing countries of the world shares a deep understanding of the gravity of the problem – and still hope for all of it to be solved.
