Bert-Co Acquires In-Line Finishing Equipment for Cartons

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 12, 2009 -- Los Angeles, CA – August 2009 - Bert-Co, a key manufacturer of folding cartons, point-of-purchase materials and specialty packaging acquires a “smart packing” machine for in-line gluing applications that relieve the need of hand labor. The SmartPack, as Bert-Co refers to it, is currently located in their Los Angeles facility.

Bert-Co’s SmartPack machine can apply a rigid window or multiple rigid windows in-line at a time. It can also combine substrates, such as board and plastic and pick and place products such as credit cards or trays. Their first job on the Smart Pack was of a lenticular application for The Terminator DVD sleeve.

“The great thing about the SmartPack is that it has modules which make it very versatile and easy to customize to every job,” says Alex Castro VP Plant Manager in Los Angeles. “It can run several thousands units an hour depending upon complexity,” Castro adds.
