Marlborough Fashion Show

Marlborough Town Hall was the setting on 3RD November for a fashion show organised by the local Chamber of Commerce to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal. Shakin’ The Tree was one of many Marlborough retailers to take space and lend support. 50 x £5 gift vouchers were given away in goody bags so we look forward to seeing existing and new customers during the Christmas run-in.

Marlborough Late Night Shopping
Online Christmas Shop
Marlborough town centre retailers will mark the launch of late night Christmas shopping on Thursday 24th November to coincide with the switch on of the Christmas lights. We will be open until 7pm on Thursdays 24th November and 1st; 8th; 15th and 22nd December.

Sunday Opening
Our Newbury shop is now open on Sundays from 11am – 4pm and Marlborough will follow suit on 11th and 18th December.

Parkway

We were delighted to announce of the long awaited opening of the Newbury Parkway Shopping scheme on Thursday 27th October. The scheme welcomes a number of new retail brands to the town, including Superdry, Paperchase, H&M, Hotel Chocolat, Lakeland and Mint Velvet, and will become an even bigger destination with the arrival of John Lewis at Home in Spring 2012. We have noticed a marked increase in customer traffic to Shakin’ The Tree as the dynamics of the town centre change, and overall Newbury will undoubtedly benefit from pulling in shoppers from further afield

We have now been established as a retail brand in Newbury for a little over 2 years, and in Marlborough for 15 months. There is no question that opening a retail operation during a recession has been the biggest challenge of our careers, but the positive reaction and loyalty of our many customers during that period has made the long hours and sacrifices worthwhile.
