Beverly Hills Artist Judy Zimbert wows crowd during new show opening at Miracle Mile Art Walk

Last Saturday April 16, Beverly Hills-based artist Judy Zimbert, a newcomer to the artists’ roster at Artspace Warehouse, participated in the new show Basel Junction LA with barely dried oil paintings. The Beverly Hills resident brought her husband and drew an entire army of friends and acquaintances to the opening reception. To good use: although the newest artist in the show, she became the best-selling artist for the night where her body of work at the gallery disappeared in more than half of it through the course of the evening, leaving her exhibiting space with barren walls. Her works style is inspired by the expressionism in the German world with a modern twist. The varying sizes of her still-life oils get multiplied on the canvas reminiscent of a kaleidoscope vision struck a chord with the show attendees at the gallery’s artists’ reception. Her talent and the timing of the show – which ran concurrent with the quarterly Miracle Mile Artwalk – coronate the Beverly Hills artist with sales of 65% of her artworks at Artspace Warehouse.
Other local artists represented at the current show are BHHS alumni Daniel Maltzman, LA area artists Hilary Bond, Barbara Kolo, Lucinda Luvaas, Ashleigh Sumner along with a variety of European artists including Marco Pittori and Christian Manss. The present show opened during the recent Miracle Mile Art Walk and will last through the end of May.

About the artist: After a successful career in radio and television, Beverly Hills resident Judy Zimbert was able to channel her energies into what she’d always dreamed of doing…painting. Having studied for years in Taos, New Mexico with famed chiaroscuro artist David Leffel, she began a long examination of German Expressionist Art and incorporated the freshness of contemporary images into her art. This period was followed by a series of portrait commissions that helped refine her artistic voice. She currently hosts a weekly salon called TRIBE with three other professional artists and has run an atelier in her studio for young adults. Artspace Warehouse, one of the world's leading galleries for savvy contemporary art collectors, fell in love with her fresh art style and showcased her art.
